THE PRAYERS

NDU Junior High School Prayers

  1. THE SIGN OF THE CROSS
  2. In the name of the Father, and of the Son, and of the Holy Spirit, Amen.

  3. THE APOSTLES’ CREED
  4. I believe in God, the Father Almighty, Creator of Heaven and earth. I believe in Jesus Christ, His only Son, our Lord, who was conceived by the Holy Spirit, born of the Virgin Mary, suffered under Pontius Pilate, was crucified, died and was buried. He descended to the dead. On the third day, He rose again. He ascended to Heaven and is seated at the right hand of the Father. He will come again to judge the living and the dead. I believe in the Holy Spirit, the Holy Catholic Church, the communion of saints, the forgiveness of sins, the resurrection of the body, and life everlasting. Amen.

  5. THE LORD’S PRAYER
  6. Our Father in heaven, holy be Your name. Your Kingdom come, your will be done, on earth, as it is in heaven. Give us this day, our daily bread, and forgive us our sins, as we forgive those who sin against us. Do not bring us to the test, but deliver us from evil. Amen.

  7. HAIL MARY
  8. Hail Mary, full of grace. The Lord is with you. Blessed are you among women, and blessed is the fruit of your womb, Jesus. Holy Mary, Mother of God, pray for us, sinners, now and at the hour of our death. Amen.

  9. PRAYER TO THE HOLY SPIRIT
  10. Come, O Holy Spirit,
Fill the hearts of your faithful
And enkindle is us the fire of your love. Send forth your Spirit, and we shall be created, and we shall renew the face of the earth.

O God, You instructed the hearts of your faithful by the light of the Holy Spirit.
Grant us in the same Spirit to be truly wise and rejoice in His consolation.
    Through Christ Our Lord. Amen.

  11. HAIL HOLY QUEEN
  12. Hail Holy Queen, Mother of mercy. Hail our life, our sweetness and our hope. To you do we cry, poor banished, children of Eve, to you do we send up our sighs, mourning and weeping in this valley of tears. Turn then, oh most gracious, advocate , your eyes of mercy towards us, and after this, our exile, show unto us the blessed fruit of thy womb Jesus. O clement, oh loving, oh most sweet Virgin Mary.

  13. PRAYER TO THE GUARDIAN ANGEL
  14. Angel of God, my guardian dear, to whom his love commits me here, ever this day be at my side, to light and guard, to rule and guide. Amen.

  15. THE ANGELUS
  16. The Angel of the Lord declared unto Mary, And she conceived of the Holy Spirit.

    Hail Mary . .
Behold the handmaid of the Lord. Be it done unto me according to Thy word.

    Hail Mary . .
And the Word was made Flesh, And dwelt among us.

    Hail Mary . .
Pray for us, O Holy Mother of God, That we may be made worthy of the promises of Christ.

    Let us pray:
Pour forth, we beseech Thee, O Lord, Thy grace into our hearts; that we, to whom the incarnation of Christ, Thy Son, was made known by the message of an angel, may by His Passion and Cross be brought to the glory of His Resurrection, through the same Christ Our Lord. Amen.

  17. THE REGINA COELI PRAYER
  18. Queen of Heaven, rejoice, alleluia.
For he, whom you did merit to bear, alleluia.
Has risen as He said, alleluia.
Pray for us to God, alleluia.
    V. Rejoice and be glad, O Virgin Mary, alleluia.
    R. For the Lord is truly risen, alleluia.
Let us pray: O God, who gave joy to the world through the resurrection of thy Son, our Lord Jesus Christ, grant we beseech thee, that through the intercession of the Virgin Mary, his Mother, we may obtain the joys of everlasting life. Through the same Christ our Lord. Amen.

  19. MORNING OFFERING
  20. O My God, I offer You all my prayers, works and sufferings in union with the Sacred Heart of Jesus for the intentions for which He pleads and offer Himself in the Holy Sacrifice of the Mass, in thanksgiving for your favors, in reparation for my offenses, and in humble supplication for my temporal and eternal welfare, for the wants of our Holy Mother the Church, for the conversion of sinners, and for the relief of the poor souls in purgatory. I wish to gain all the graces attached to the prayers I shall say and to the good work I shall perform this day. Amen.

  21. PRAYER BEFORE MEALS
  22. Bless us O Lord and these thy gifts
Which we are about to receive
    From Thy bounty
    Through Christ our Lord. Amen.

  23. PRAYER AFTER MEALS
  24. We give You thanks O Lord
For all the graces we have received
    From Thy bounty
    Through Christ our Lord. Amen.

  25. STUDENT’S PRAYER
  26. O God, as you know, I am a student, trying to prepare myself for my future.

I thank you for this privilege of pursuing my education.
Help me to be diligent in my studies, attentive in class, active in school programs, respectful and grateful to my teachers, and kind to my classmates.

Lord, grant me the light and grace of your Holy Spirit so that I may learn easily. Give me a keen mind to understand my lessons, a retentive memory and a facility in language, expressing myself. Help me to pass my tests and examinations successfully, and to bring honor to myself, my family and my school.

Lord, I thank you for my parents and others who provide everything I need as a student. Bless them, Lord, for their kindness to me. Let me never forget their sacrifices for my welfare. Grant Lord, that I may advance, not only in academic knowledge but also in divine knowledge and faith.

Bless me and all my classmates in our paths through life and keep us always safe in your love and care. Amen.

  27. ACT OF FAITH
  28. O my God, I firmly believe that You are one God in three Divine Persons the Father, Son, and Holy Spirit; I believe that Your Divine Son became man and died for our sins, and that He will come, to judge the living and the dead. I believe these and all the truths which the Holy Catholic Church teaches, because You have revealed them, who can neither deceive, or be deceived.

  29. ACT OF HOPE
  30. O my God; relying on Your Almighty power and infinite mercy and promises, I hope to obtain pardon of my sins, the help of Your grace, and life everlasting through the merits of Jesus Christ, my Lord and Redeemer.

  31. ACT OF LOVE
  32. O my God, I love You above all things, with my whole heart and soul, because You are all-good and worthy of all love. I love my neighbor as myself for love of You. I forgive all who injured me, and ask pardon of all whom I have injured.

  33. ACT OF CONTRITION
  34. O my God, I am heartily sorry for having offended You and detest all my sins, because You are Goodness itself and sin is an offense against. You I firmly resolve with the help of Your grace, not to sin again and avoid the occasion of sin.

  35. ACT OF THANKSGIVING
  36. O my God, I thank You for all You have given me, for having created me; redeemed me and for having made me a child of God and of the Catholic Church.

  37. THE MEMORARE
  38. Remember, O most gracious Virgin Mary, that never was it known that anyone who fled to your protection, implored your help and sought your intercession was left unaided. Inspired with this confidence, I fly unto you, O Virgin of virgins, my Mother. To you I come. Before you, I stand, sinful and sorrowful. Oh Mother of the Word incarnate, despise not my petitions, but in your mercy, hear and answer me. Amen.

  39. PRAYER OF ST. FRANCIS
  40. Lord, make me an instrument of Your peace; Where there is hatred, let me sow love; Where there is injury, pardon; Where there is doubt, faith; Where there is despair, hope; Where there is darkness, light; and where there is sadness joy.

O Divine master, grant I may not so much seek to be consoled; to be understood as to understand; to be loved, as to love; For it is in giving that we receive; It is in pardoning, that we are pardoned; and it is in dying, that we are born to eternal life.

  41. PRAYER BEFORE WORK
  42. God, our Father. May everything we do begin with Your inspiration and continue with Your saving help. Let our work always find its origin in You and through You reach completion.

Lord, pour out Your spirit of understanding, truth and peace. Help us to strive with all our hearts to know what is pleasing to You, and when we know Your will, make us be determined to do it.

God, our Father, work is Your gift to us, a call to reach new heights by using our talents, for the good of all. Guide us as we work and teach the good of all in the spirit and love that have made us Your children. Grant this through Christ, Our Lord. Amen.

  43. PRAYER FOR THE INTERCESSION OF ST. EUGENE
  44. By your example, touch me to see Jesus in others, to help those in need, and to have the courage to do God's will.

I ask you to intercede on my behalf for a special need.

May God, through your intercession, guide me to accept the difficulties in my life and to work toward a happy and healthy solution.

May I accept God's will in my life with strength and love.

I ask this through His Son Jesus Christ. Amen.
